  • How did you become part of MYB?
    I became part of MYB by going out on a limb! I literally just showed up at a shakeout run. MYB became my motivation which led to me setting goals. The diversity of levels within our krewe and the family atmosphere has been what has kept me going! With working out, I realized that I have hard days and even harder days, but the key has been to just get there and to just show up!
  • When did you start walking/running?
    I have always walked here and there, but started trying to run in November. I began my journey to getting fit and I was looking to shake things up in my life. I wanted to be more active. I have never been athletic and I literally have not run since high school. Running has been a great distraction from the rest of this thing called life! MYB has been my motivation and the start of me setting jogging goals. I am a planner by nature. I made a plan, set goals with dates and have been sticking to it. I realized that this is one plan I have complete control over!
  • What is your favorite post race/cheat meal?
    Definitely PASTA! With crawfish or shrimp!
  • If you could have one super power, what would it be & why?
    It would be superhuman endurance! The endurance to get things done on time! I'm typically an "all over the place" person, so the endurance to juggle work, grade papers, write papers quickly, be better at cooking and quickly finish cleaning would be amazing! Oh! And of course to have the endurance to get through my exercises and races with a breeze would be fabulous!
  • If you could run with any celebrity, who would you choose?
    ichelle Obama. I feel like she would be fun and cool to hangout with. Plus she can give me some tips on how to juggle life while be an amazing woman, wife and mother!

    Alex Rogers, a current member, told me about the group & I wanted to get involved with the city after graduating so it was a good fit! 
  • When did you start walking/running?
    I started my senior year of college.
  • What is your favorite post race/cheat meal?
    Fried shrimp po-boy. 
  • If you could have one super power, what would it be & why?
    I would want to fly to not got caught up in traffic on I-10.

    I was looking for something to fill in off season between synchronized swimming and Ouidats, my marching group
  • Why did you start becoming active?
    I've always enjoyed physical  activity; more energy!
  • What is your favorite cheat meal?
    Pasta, pasta, pasta! 
  • If you could have one super power, what would it be & why?
    I would love to be invisible so I could ignore Shanda Domango when she tells us to "get a little lower"
  • If you could run with any celebrity, who would you choose?
    am in the beehive, so no question, Beyoncé!

  • How did you become part of MYB?
    I found out about it online and just went on a Monday. On my first walk/run, Wilfredo did his 3 miles and came back to run with me!! That was it!! I was hooked!!
  • Why did you start walking/running?
    I wanted to start an outdoor activity and something that required no membership fee. MYB Monday runs were just the ticket! Then I went to Bounce Ya Brass on Tuesday and it was even more fun!
  • What is your favorite post race/cheat meal?
    A burger from The Junction! 
  • If you could have one super power, what would it be & why?
    To be speedy like The Flash! I'm late for everything and a procrastinator. I wouldn't necessarily want to be fast for races, but cleaning the house maybe..
  • If you could run with any celebrity, who would you choose?
    would choose Shemar Moore. He has to run in front of me with no shirt on though!

    My fiancé, Mike, wanted to check it out, so I decided to tag along!
  • Why did you start walking/running?
    My sister is a runner and she told me I could be one too (she's the sporty one in the family), so I started running and I liked it. I also had too much fun in college and had to try to combat that. 
  • What is your favorite post race/cheat meal?
    Beeeeeeeeeeeer and pizzzzzzzzzza s
  • If you could have one super power, what would it be & why?
    I would choose the power of persuasion - like Kilgrave from Marvel's Jessica Jones, but good :) 
  • If you could run with any celebrity, who would you choose?
    would love to run with Scott Jurek! He is a sponsored ultra runner, but he is a very down-to-earth guy who just enjoys the sport. He has also leisurely run through the grand canyon with his wife and young child and I think that's a beautiful thing.

    My friend invited me to the Monday runs.
  • Why did you start walking/running?
    I started running as a stress reliever. When I run, I know I'm not by myself & I love how everybody motivates each other
  • What is your favorite post race/cheat meal?
    Raising Canes French Fries
  • If you could run with anyone, who would you choose?
    Will, I really miss him. He helped me with my pace & my breathing. When we ran together, he would tell me I don't hear you breathing. He helped me a lot. I would love to run with him & not stop.

  • How did you become part of MYB?
    I was running at City Park on a Monday and recognized some of the runners standing in the group. I joined the run and met this positive group of individuals who I now consider part of  my running family.
  • Why did you start walking/running?
    I started running about 8 or 9 years ago as a great way to meet my fitness goals and maintain a healthy lifestyle. However, once I began participating in organized runs, I found out how wonderful the running community is in this city and have been enjoying the people and fun times just as much as the exercise.
  • What is your favorite post race/cheat meal?
    Donuts...and more donuts...and then, more donuts. I count my calorie burn in donuts.
  • If you could have one super power, what would it be & why?
    Regenerative Healing. Speedy recovery would make life much easier on longer distances.
  • If you could run with any celebrity, who would you choose?
    Bradley Cooper. I don't know if he runs (until I start chasing him ), but it would be great motivation for me.

  • How did you become part of MYB?
    My wife, Noelle heard about MYB on WWOZ. Robin was doing an interview and mentioned the group. We moved from DC last year and were looking for a fun way to meet new people and stay healthy. She started going in the Spring and kept telling me how much fun it was. I joined in after Jazz Fest and I have to agree, its a really good group. 
  • Why did you start running?
    I love to eat, so you have to do something!  I started running about 5 years ago. I was already doing some cycling for fitness with a few charity rides thrown in. In DC the winters were not kind to cyclists so I started running with Noelle, just to stay in shape. I had been to some of her early races and it seemed like fun. So my first goal was a local 5 mile Turkey Trot, I was hooked.  We've been doing at least a race a month together since then.
  • What's your favorite post race/cheat meal?
    That's tough, but I would say a big cheeseburger and fries. And of course a cold beer to wash it down.
  • If you could have one super power what would it be and why?
    Flying. I dream about it even as an adult. And I would never sit in traffic! 
  • If you could run with a celebrity who would you choose?
    Maybe Jim Gaffigan. I know he doesn't run and would complain the entire time and tell jokes about going to Wendy's so it would be a riot.
