1. Start the first 30 mins of your day without looking at your phone.
Don’t start your day with anxiousness and stress of missed calls, notifications or emails. Instead, take time to stretch. Enjoy that transitioning of sleep to start getting ready. Enjoying those 30 mins will give you a mental break. Take that nice warm shower and just be present.
2. Set reminders on your phone with affirmations.
I set a note reminder twice a day with a different affirmation. It’s nice to look at your phone and instantly see a reminder that “ I’m so blessed” or “I got this”.
Your messages should be positive, in the present tense, and state something that you want.
3. Focus on the present moment.
So often, we let negative memories or worrying from the past affect our current thinking. DON’T! You can only control what is right in front of you. Focus on your present situation and what is affecting you right now, you may realize how unimportant some of the things you may have been worrying about are.
You’d be surprised at how much this practice can help create positive energy.
4. Go take a walk.
This is my go to for EVERYTHING. Whenever I’m stressed or had a long day, I leave my phone in my pocket and go for a walk with my family. My husband says it’s like clockwork, after 7-10 minutes into the walk, I’ll say, “Wow life is good!”
5. Work out with Move Ya Brass
Exercise helps boost your confidence because when you workout, you're doing something challenging with other people. This gives you a sense of shared accomplishment and teamwork. Moving whether dancing or running/walking connects you with others. When you move with other people it creates a strong sense of 'bigger than self' possibility that makes people feel more optimistic and empowered.
Especially with Move Ya Brass we want our Krewe to feel more empowered about facing the challenges in their own lives.
BONUS - Surround yourself with positive people.
You are who you surround yourself with.
